   In addition to its mission as an indispensable requirement of the human physiology, the water, which is called as the life source, has been effectively used by the civilizations, therefore it is the most essential world resource.

   The mankind has moved on and made improvements in his civilization by benefiting from the characteristics of water such as buoyancy, solvency, energy transfer, fluidity and potential for generating energy, throughout the history of the civilizations. Also the civilization has developed directly proportionate to the increase in the knowledge about the characteristics of water and the improvements in the skill of benefiting from water.

   The recent studies that focused on the highest efficiency in the use of water in daily life and in the industry have become a scientific discipline, and thus, water treatment technology has emerged. The energy is one of the most prominent inputs of the industry therefore, the conservation of energy and its use with the highest efficiency is the most important issue in water treatment.

   High system-setup costs, huge energy costs, and the risks of dangerous accidents are the matter in the industrial applications in which water’s fluidity and energy transfer characteristics are used together. To operate the systems with such high costs with a high efficiency and in safety requires experience, knowledge, technological infrastructure, and management skills at expertise level in terms of water management.

   The aim of heat transfer systems that benefit from the energy transfer characteristics of water, is to transfer the heat, which is loaded to the water with very high costs in central stations, to another location with the highest possible efficiency. For this purpose, it is tried to minimize the effects of the factors that may block or hamper the heat transfer, or the failures which may occur in the heat transfer systems.

Possible Ca and Mg salts in the water, cause furring in the form of crystals on the heat transfer surfaces. This furring obstructs the heat transfer and causes energy loss. Also, dissolved gases in the water, mostly the oxygen, cause corrosion by reacting with the metal components of the system. And the corrosion leads to deformation in the system equipment thus it causes failures and dangerous accidents.
